Het is de kortste dag van het jaar en wat is het toch donker.... Wie is nog meer op zoek naar het licht dat nog wel een paar weken op zich zal laten wachten?
Achter de schermen werd er druk gewerkt aan de kersthaaksels die ik jullie beloofd heb maar helaas door wat tegenslag (roest en verkeerde mengsels) laat het nog heel even op zich wachten. Ik heb gelukkig wel wat resultaat geboekt en ben heel erg tevreden! Ik ga heel hard frobelen morgen om het af te krijgen zodat jullie ook nog een kersthaakseltje/projectje kunnen maken.
Het werkt natuurlijk ook niet echt mee als je tegen je kindjes zegt: "Kom ga mee naar de Intratuin naar de Kerstshow!" Hop, drie uurtjes weg van huis. Maar wel heerlijk gestruind en genoten van de lichtjes en kersthuisjes. Ieder jaar wordt het makkelijker om ze mee te nemen lijkt wel. Twee jaar geleden gingen we voor het eerst, toen ik onder de stress zat van een naderende burn out. Wat een contrast met dit jaar, het was vooral gezellig en gewoon leuk!
En nu zeg ik: laten we vooral veel lichtjes aanmaken om het donkerte te verdrijven. Het heeft eigenlijk wel wat die vele donkere uren!

It is the shortest day of the year.. lots of darkness in the early morning and late afternoon. Who else is looking for the sun to return? It will take a couple of weeks to really notice the lengthening of the days but it won't be long now.
On my side of the screen I have been trying to arrange my promised Christmas patterns but I have had a bit of a setback due to rust and clumps in the stiffening process. I had to start over but I am on track now! I will reveal the whole Christmas projects soon.
I am also not very helping myself creating a bit of time to finish everything when I say to my darling kids: "Let's go to the garden centre for the Christmas show!" Whoops, 3 hours away from home. But we had fun :)
Are you also lightening up lots of candles? It feels magical right?

Your children are beautiful. Please don't feel too guilty for taking time out of your busy day for them. I, too, have an orange cat, but his hair is very long and he hates to get brushed. I finished two garlands for our Christmas tree, but I don't have small children to keep track of. My daughters are 34 and 32. They are lovely and thoughtful young women and I am very proud of them. Treasure those times you spend with them, they grow up too fast. Thank you for the cookies in a jar idea. I gave it to neighbors and they loved it.
