De kleine man wilde dat ik iets voor hem haakte voor zijn verjaardag. Hij koos de Spartan uit uit het boekje " Creepy cute crochet" van Christen Haden wat ik al jaren in mijn kast heb staan en waar hij vaak door bladerde. Maar wat was het gezicht moeilijk! Ik ben nog niet zo'n ster in borduren. Ik heb niet zo heel veel ervaring met amigurumi, dus ik moet vaker oefenen denk ik zo. Nog 299 te gaan?  (Hint hint) Maar al met al goed gelukt.

The little man wanted me to crochet a gift for his birthday. He chose the Spartan from the book " Creepy cute crochet" written by Christen Haden. I have this book for years and years and the kids love look at the robots and creepy vanpires in it. I was struggling with the face though. Embroidery can be tricky! So I probably need to practice and make another 299 ( hint hint). Overall I really enjoyed making it!

Tutorial: Finishing A Tunisian Project/Tunisch afhechten

Misschien ben je na de vorige tutorials al begonnen met Tunisch haken? Het is zo leuk ja toch? Maar ja, dan kom je bij de laatste toer en laat het Tunisch afhechten nou net even anders zijn dan bij gewoon haken.... Als je je laatste toer hebt gemaakt dan eindig je eigenlijk met een veel te open toer. Ik laat je zien hoe je netjes je project af kunt maken in de volgende video.
Het enige waar je echt rekening mee moet houden is dat je dezelfde steek gebruikt voor het afhechten als je ook voor je project hebt gebruikt!

Did you start your Tunisian adventure after my last tutorials? Fun right? But maybe you want to finish off your project and haven't got a clue HOW. Well, let me show you. Because that last forward pass is a bit different but necessary to get a nice finishing touch.
One thing you need to keep in mind though: always use the same stitch for the last forward pass as the stitch you have used in your project!!

Creativity Time

 

 

Vorige week ben ik bewust even AFK gegaan. Even weg van de blog en alle gedachten op een rijtje zetten. Nu is het niet zo dat het heel ernstig is hoor!

Ik moest alleen echt even goed nadenken of ik de routine die ik nu heb voor dit heerlijke stekje wel haalbaar zou blijven naast mijn gewone werk en mama-zijn/echtgenote-zijn. Ik hik echt tegen mijn grenzen aan.

 

En dus ga ik een klein stapje terug doen. Ik merk dat ik tijd te kort kom om een persoonlijk blogbericht te schrijven en dat voor de wekelijkse tutorial ik op mijn twee vrije dagen enorm veel tijd er in stop om het te regelen. En aangezien ook het moestuin seizoen weer gaat beginnen....

 

Dus bij deze lieve mensen zeg ik: ik heb het lang volgehouden (vanaf september) maar vanaf vandaag komt er om de week een tutorial op de blog en zo af en toe wissel ik af met een patroon. Het moet natuurlijk wel leuk blijven en ik mis zo enorm de tijd om wat te creëren! Terwijl dat natuurlijk het belangrijkst is.

 

Ik wens jullie een fijne woensdag. Morgen is er dus een tutorial, maar volgende week dan niet.

So I went AFK last week. I needed a time-out from the blog to put all my thoughts in line.

No worries though, it is not serious!

I just had to put everything together in my head and pick and choose a new routine because I am hitting some stress limits and I have to juggle work. life with my kids and hubby and my blog.

 

So I decided to give myself a break concerning the tutorials. They really take lots of time and most of the weeks I was putting my two days off into creating them and getting everything ready for Thursday. I felt I was having too much to do in too little time. And since urban gardening season has started I want to be able to go out and have an afternoon/morning in the garden!

 

My dear dear readers, from now on there will be a bi-weekly rythm when it comes to the tutorials. I will alternate with patterns too. Tomorrow there will be a new tutorial, but next week there will be a pause. Every other week I will post a new technique!

 

I hope to have a bit of creating time with this schedule and I feel that that is the most important thing for me.

AFK (Away From Keyboard) & Easter Link Up!

De afgelopen dagen, nou ja weken eigenlijk, zijn bij mij superdruk geweest. Ik heb een hoop stress te verduren gehad, en omdat ik op mijn werk alleen maar aan het rennen en vliegen was, zit ik iedere keer thuis nog aan een hoop nakijk- en voorbereidingstijd. Het leek mij verstandig om de permanente frons die nu opeens weer op mijn gezicht opduikt nu niet te negeren en eventjes gas terug te nemen.

Lieve lezers, vanaf morgen zijn mijn kindjes thuis dus neem ik een mini blog vakantie voor dit paasweekend.
Morgen is er dus geen tutorial, vrijdag even geen Friday Find, en de Link Party schuif ik ook een weekje op.

Maar, en dat merk ik bij mezelf al, natuurlijk hebben we allemaal een haakverslaving en willen we een fix. Dus daarom dacht ik, is het niet leuk om vandaag een thema link party te starten waarin iedereen een favoriet patroontje kan linken?

The past few days, or should I say the past few weeks, have been draining my energy levels. I had quite a bit of stress to endure, filled-to-the-brim days and have been haunted by a huge pile of grading work that is still not finished. Soooo when I started to feel that a frown was way too much on my face and it stayed after relaxing I thought it would be wise to go AFK (away from keyboard) for a while.

But not too long, honestly!

The kids are home at the moment and will be until Monday so I am taking a blog Easter break to catch up on them and the work pile.

The thing is, I need a daily crochet fix! So I thought it would be fun to open up an Easter themed link party and I want to invite you to link up your favorite Easter crochet pattern. I need inspiration :)

Have a great Easter holiday and I will be back on Monday. In the mean time I will be on Facebook and Instagram.
