One more month of school.... Summer holiday is almost here... This is the version with a full intro. It is so awesome! It is quite graphic/intense, but symbolises the concept of the album brilliantly)

Our Garden ~ June
During the rainy weeks in May all of your plants had a major growth spurt!
The leaves turned bigger and bigger, our stringbean climbed and climbed.
And most of the plants were so big in a few days that they were too big to be eaten by slugs (nevertheless they were able to eat all of the leaves of my lavas plant boo)
Flowers are popping open and are already wilting (the stalkbean flowers are falling off).
Most of the tadpoles are gone. There are only two left.
It's amazing to see how everything grows and it is such a joy to make a round through the garden. I hope to see may flowers opening up and hopefully fruits popping up in July and August!
Merry Midsummer Day!
Tijdens de regenachtige weken van mei groeiden de plantjes gigantisch hard!
De bladeren werden enorm groot en onze stokboon klom met een enorme snelheid omhoog.
De meeste plantjes groeiden nu zo hard dat ze binnen een aantal dagen buiten het bereik van de slakken groeiden en dus ook minder aangevroten raakten (helaas hebben ze het wel voor elkaar gekregen om mijn maggi plant op te peuzelen...)
Bloemen springen open en zijn nu al aan het verwelken (bij de tuinboon vallen ze er al af).
De meeste kikkervisjes zijn verdwenen, er zwemmen er nog maar twee in de vijver.
Het is echt geweldig om te zien hoe alles groeit en het is nu zo leuk om iedere keer de tuin in te lopen en even een blaadje op te tillen en overal te spieken. Ik hoop dat er heel veel bloemen nog opengaan en dat we dan in juli en augustus vruchten gaan zien!

Friday Find
Brace yourselves...... The Dutch are coming!
I am not a soccer fan (my ex-boyfriend was so I know a bit about it, but for Big Man soccer is non existent) but the whole of the Netherlands is wearing orange now that we are playing in the World Cup!
I was thinking about a subject for this weeks Friday Find and since there was a game last Wednesday I thought I would wait to see what the results for that game would be and decide what the theme would be.
We won (barely).
This weeks Friday Find is all about the Dutch!
Ik ben geen voetballiefhebber (mijn ex wel, dus ik weet wel wat er speelt!) maar man wat is Nederland in de ban van de Oranje gekte!
Ik was hard aan het peinzen over een thema voor deze vrijdag voor de Friday Find en toen bleek dus woensdag de tweede wedstrijd te zijn. Ik dacht, eens zien wat de resultaten zijn en daar het thema op afstemmen!
We wonnen (net aan). De wedstrijd vorige week was natuurlijk briljant. :)
Dusssss deze Friday Find gaat over ons, Nederlanders!

Hello hello my dears!

Dutch CAL 2014 update!
It is starting to look like something! I crocheted rows 13 to 15 in the last two weeks. And week 16 is next.
I didn't want to do the Catherine wheels from week 15 so I used the Slanted Bobble Stitch as an alternative. It looks great, I love it. You do have to use a light colour for this stitch to make it pop.
And best of all, I made a tutorial of this stitch!

Het begint ergens op te lijken! Ik heb de afgelopen twee weken gehaakt aan week 13 tot en met 15. Week 16 is ook al begonnen. Ik had geen zin in Catherine wheels zoals in week 15 dus heb ik de Antilliaanse steek gebruikt als alternatief. Ik vind hem leuk! Je moet wel echt een lichte kleur gebruiken want anders valt de steek niet goed genoeg op.
En het leukste: ik heb een tutorial van deze steek gemaakt!

Tutorial: Slanted Bobble Stitch
Want to learn a fun bobble stitch?
Here's how! This is a stitch I saw on my neighbour's Dutch CAL blanket when I was visiting the Meet in March. It looked lovely on her blanket and I really wanted to incorporate it into my own blanket. I also used the stitch already in a new pattern. So this week I am posting the tutorial for the stitch and next week I will publish the project I have made with it :) It is a fun little project and can be used as a stashbuster!
The original (Dutch) tutorial for this stitch (de Antilliaanse steek) can be found here as Wieke van Keulen used it in her crochet roll. It is a beautiful stitch, and I think I will make it in a light colour for my CAL blanket.
Zin om een leuke bobbel steek te leren?
Hier kun je leren hoe! Dit is een steek die ik zag bij een buurvrouw tijdens de Dutch CAL meeting in Maart. Het zag er onwijs leuk uit bij haar deken en ik wilde hem ook gaan gebruiken. Ik heb deze steek ook al in een ander nieuw projectje gebruikt. Dus wat ik ga doen is nu een tutorial posten en binnenkort het patroon! Het is een leuk klein projectje en een heerlijke stashbuster!

Here we go!
We are going to make a flat project, so you will be working in rows back and forth.
Daar gaan we!
We maken een plat project dus je werkt in rijen heen en terug.
Chain a multiple of two plus 1 (the single stitch will be your turning st.)
or: have a 2 stitch repeat plus 1 in your project (the CAL blanket has a 24 st +1 repeat which is perfect!)
Maak een ketting van een meervoud van 2 + 1 (de enkele steek is je keersteek)
of: maak gebruik een ander patroon als er maar een meervoud van 2 in past plus 1 (de CAL deken heeft een meervoud van 24 +1 dus dat is perfect!)
Here we go, attach your yarn.
Daar gaan we! Hecht de draad aan.
Turn your work (the front of your project will be facing you), ch1 and sc in the first stitch
Keer je werk (de voorkant van je project is naar je toegekeerd), maak 1 keerlosse en een vaste in de eerste steek.
Sk next st, sc in next st
Sla de volgende steek over, maak een vaste in de volgende steek
In that same stitch do the following steps to make a bobble:
In diezelfde steek volg je de stappen om een bobbel te maken:
*yarn over hook,
* maak een omslag,
insert hook in stitch,
steek de naald in dezelfde steek als de vaste,
yarn over hook, pull through stitch*
maak een omslag, haal je lus naar voren door de steek*
Repeat the steps between asterisks 2 more times until you have 7 loops on your hook
Herhaal de stappen tussen de sterretjes nog 2 maal tot je 7 lussen op je naald hebt.
yarn over hook and pull through 6 loops (2 lussen op naald)
maak een omslag en haal door 6 lussen (2 lussen op naald)
yarn over hook and pull through the last 2 loops
maak een omslag en haal door de laatste 2 lussen
repeat *sk next st, sc in next st, bobble in same st* until end of row, making a dc in the last st of the previous row (watch it! I made a little mistake somewhere, I missed a stitch somewhere, you should have a sc and a bobble in the second to last st, and a dc in the last st)
herhaal *sla volgende steek over, maak een vaste in de volgende steek en een bobbel in dezelfde steek* tot het einde van de toer. Je maakt een een stokje in de laatste steek van de vorige toer (pas op! Ik heb een foutje gemaakt, je hoort een bobbel en een vaste in de een na laatste steek te hebben en een stokje in de laatste, dus je hoort geen steek over te hebben!)
Turn
Keer je werk
Ch1, sc in first st (the dc), skip bobble,
Maak 1 keerlosse, maak een vaste in de eerste steek (het stokje), sla de bobbel over,
make a sc in the next sc
maak een vaste in de volgende vaste
and make a bobble in the same stitch
en maak een bobbel in dezelfde steek
Repeat *sc in sc, bobble in same sc* until end of row
Herhaal * vaste in vaste, bobbel in dezelfde vaste* tot het einde van de toer
Dc in the last st. Fasten off.
Stokje in de laatste steek. Hecht de draad af
