52 Crochet Flowers Challenge Week #9

"Het is natuurlijk geen challenge als je er af en toe geen zin in hebt!" zei mijn lieve man :)

Hij heeft natuurlijk gelijk! Al nam ik wel drastische stappen tijdens deze challenge: ik deed al mijn Phildar katoen de deur uit! Maar ik had nog geen alternatief.... En zat ik tot voor kort tot mijn oren vol met schoolexamens... En geen tijd om nieuw katoen te scoren.
Dus gister stapte ik op de fiets naar mijn wolwinkel (The Knitwitch) voor nieuw haakgaren. Daar werd ik door Marjan (de vrouw van de eigenaar, jawel een man is de baas bij deze winkel!) met Scheepjes Cocktail op een stoel gezet en werd me een haaknaald overhandigd. Wauw! Dat haakte lekker! Ik nam een aantal kleurtjes mee, maar hoe dom, geen wit! En vanochtend kwam ik erachter dat een sneeuwklokje aan de beurt was. Oeps!
Lang verhaal kort: ik haakte een puffy flower, en het patroon is hier gratis te vinden. Dit patroontje is denk ik perfect voor bloemetjes om ergens op te naaien.

"It's not a challenge if it's easy!" my dear husband said. :)

He's right ofcourse. Although I did do drastic things during the last few weeks in releation to this challenge. I sold off all my cotton yarn. I had so many tests to score and didn't have time to find a new brand of yarn to love.
So yesterday I hopped on my bike and got to my LYS. I got to test Scheepjes Cocktail and boy, it was nice yarn to work with! I took a few balls home. But this morning, after checking my challenge, I found out I had to buy white yarn for a snowdrop. Whoops.

I took a few steps to week no. 9 :) A puffy flower, with a cute free pattern over here. I think these flowers will look lovely as an embellishment.

Ik haakte verder, maar niet met plezier.... Ik vind Phildar coton 3 en ByClaire no1 echt niet fijn om te haken!! Iemand tips?

Anyhoo, vorige week stond een blauw sneeuwklokje op het programma en deze week vergeet-mij-nietjes!

I crocheted on and on, but not with much delight. I do not like to crochet with Phildar coton 3 and ByClaire no1. They tend to irritate my tennis elbow. Does anybody know of an alternative?

Anyhoo, I had a bluebell lined up for last week and forget-me-nots for this week.

Ik ga mijzelf uitdagen dit jaar en iedere week iets nieuws en kleins haken!! Iedere week haak ik een bloem naar een bestaand patroon van internet of van boeken. Er is zoveel moois te vinden! Ik vul mijn blog op met kleur en fleur :)
Ik ga mijn voorraadje Phildar coton 3 opmaken voor dit project en wat ik mis vul ik aan met byClaire2. Ik gebruik haaknaald 2.5

Doe je mee? Het is hartstikke leuk om nieuwe technieken en vormen te leren haken en om van die kleine beetjes garen op te maken!

I am going to challenge myself this year and crochet something small and new each week. Every Sunday I will post a flower and the link (if possible) to the flower I made so you can participate as well! There are so many cute flower patterns. I want to sprinkle lots of colour on my little blog.

I am going to use my stash of Phildar coton 3 and if I am running out of yarn I will use byClaire1.
I am hooking with size 2.5 (size C)
